Desert Umbrella Acacia Tree (acacia tortilis)

Very widespread and very common on the Arabian Peninsula and over the drier parts of the African continent in bush, scrub and woodlands, the typical broad, flat, umbrella-shaped crown of this tree is immediately associated with the African savanna. It grows into a moderately large tree with pinnate foliage and clusters of strongly scented, white flowers. Acacia tortilis is extremely hardy to drought, wind, poor and saline soils.
