Acerola Cherry Tree (malpighia glabra)

High Yield, Antioxident Rich Acerola cherry is a large, bushy shrub or small tree attaining up to 20 ft in height with erect spreading, minutely hairy branches and a short trunk. The flowers have 5 pink or lavender, spoon-shaped, fringed petals. Delicious fruits borne singly or in 2s or 3s in the leaf axils, are round and cherry-like but lobed, bright-red, with a thin, glossy skin and orange-color are sweet and juicy. The Barbados cherry trees are small and well suited to patio container growing.
