Chilean Fire Bush (embothrium coccineum)

Numerous clusters of deep red to crimson flowers explode in a flurry of color from the branch ends in spring. Considered to be a smaller evergreen, the Chilean Fire Bush grows to between 13 and 45 feet tall at maturity. While grown mostly for its attractive hummingbird calling flowers, the wood of the tree is soft but durable and good for carving.
